This aluminum standard is normally mounted with flat and v-shaped clamps that go against the frame. We could not use these original clamps because the clamping surface would not be the right shape and would be too small. This would therefore not fit well with the carbon frame. The stand would also not be firmly attached. The bicycle is made of Carbon Fiber and this makes it relatively vulnerable. It is important that the force on the clamping surface is evenly distributed over a larger area, so that the frame is not damaged. That is why we designed modified clamps so that the standard could still be used. The newly designed clamps take into account the different dimensions (diameters) of the different pipes. A thin piece of rubber has also been mounted in the clamps to ensure that the clamps do not move and that the exact shape of the frame is optimally used.

Deze originele klemmen konden we niet gebruiken, omdat het klemmende oppervlakte niet de juiste vorm en te klein zou zijn. Deze zou dus niet goed aansluiten met op het carbon frame. Ook zou het standaard niet stevig vastzitten. De fiets is gemaakt van Carbon Fiber en dit maakt hem relatief kwetsbaar. Het is belangrijk dat de kracht op het klemmende oppervlak gelijkmatig verdeeld wordt over een grotere oppervlakte, zodat het frame niet beschadigd. Daarom hebben wij gemodificeerde klemmen ontworpen, zodat de standaard toch gebruikt kon worden. Op de nieuw ontworpen klemmen is rekening gehouden met de verschillende afmetingen (diameters) van de verschillende buizen. In de klemmen zijn ook nog een dun stukje rubber gemonteerd om zeker te zijn dat de klemmen niet gaan bewegen en dat de exacte vorm van het frame optimaal benut zou worden.
